Bruce Standish was not your average fruiterer. He was a remarkable person and a firm believer in ‘healthful living’. A vegan since the age of 3 until his passing on January 1st 2018 he was one of Australia’s oldest vegans. Bruce was a quiet and unpretentious man, who lived a simple life above his shop sharing his knowledge to help people choose a healthier way of eating and living. A hard worker and seen in his little shop six days a week. Bruce was much loved by his customers and the Elwood community alike, which he serviced for more than half a century. A true local legend.
